History

Establishment–1979

1949 Suzuki Seisakusho is founded as a sole proprietorship in Higashinari-ku, Osaka-shi by founder Hirofumi Suzuki
1959 Tokyo Sales Office is opened.
1960 Suzuki Seisakusho is reorganized into Horai Ironworks. Head office is moved to Takaidahondori, Higashiosaka-shi.
1961 Capital is increased to 6 million yen.
1963 Capital is increased to 18 million yen. Construction of second plant at head office.
1965 Construction of Tokyo Service Plant.
1967 Nagoya Sales Office is opened.
1968 Construction of third plant at head office.
1969 Hokushin Plant is completed.
1970 Construction of second Hokushin Plant.
1973 Housyou Plant is established.
1974 Tokyo Service Plant (now the Technical Center) is completed.
1976 Awarded the 10th Medium and Small Business Research Institute Award (now the Good Company Award) and National Prize.

1980–Present

1981 Awarded the 1st Director-General of the Science and Technology Agency Award for the development of a pulverizer for synthetic resin materials.
1986 Received the Higashiosaka City Excellent Company Award for our contributions to the local community through corporate activities and new technology development.
1988 The third Head Office Research Center building is completed. Nagoya Service Plant is completed
1991 Company name is changed to Horai Co., Ltd. Capital is increased to 36 million yen.
1993 Tokyo Plant is completed.
1995 Received a certificate of appreciation from the Japan Association of Environmental Preservation for our achievements in waste treatment.
1998 Renovation of the Nagoya Sales Office and Nagoya Plant.
2001 Received certification as a Comfortable Workplace by the Osaka Labour Bureau.
2003 Received the One More Life Nice Assist Award in the Worker Multi-Life Support Project from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
2004 Received the Monozukuri Grand Prize from the Higashiosaka Chamber of Commerce.
2006 Acquired and expanded the land adjacent to the Hokushin Plant and relocates the Osaka Sales Office.
2009 60th anniversary of the company’s founding.
2019 70th anniversary of the company’s founding.
